In April my sister suggested that I try the very low carbohydrate diet eating plan. In theory I should have eaten no more than 20 grams of carbohydrates per day. Because my blood sugar was up at my April appointment I gave it a try.
Not being much of a meat-eater it was a little taxing but I learned that one does not need a LOT of meat even if low carbing.
After spending three weeks with my sister after her motorcycle incident I came home still low carbing, though higher than 20 grams per day.
In July I had my doctor appointment and found that I had lost 14 pounds and my Hemoglobin A1C went from 7 to 6.3.
This is success.
Of course, after the good news I fell off that wagon but at the time of this writing I am going the more plant-based eating route. I hope in December to have further success in the blood and weight realm.
