{"id":26,"date":"2015-03-04T00:59:33","date_gmt":"2015-03-04T00:59:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/crossett.net\/thecountrywife\/?p=26"},"modified":"2016-03-02T00:31:04","modified_gmt":"2016-03-02T05:31:04","slug":"kitchen-cupboard-curtains","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/crossett.net\/thecountrywife\/index.php\/2015\/03\/04\/kitchen-cupboard-curtains\/","title":{"rendered":"Kitchen Cupboard Curtains"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our kitchen is the site of much of the activity in our home.\u00a0 Son #3 has built the cabinets for us, for which I am extremely grateful.\u00a0 So far they are incomplete and I came to a point where I hated to have all the kitchen gadgets, trash can, cleaning supplies, etc in plain view of everyone who enters the house.\u00a0 Consequently, I bit the bullet and purchased some light-weight cotton on a 50% off coupon at our local fabric store.<\/p>\n<div class=\"entry-content\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The day after purchasing the fabric I was at the church for a couple of hours before a baptismal program so I brought the fabric, scissors, a large bath towel, and the iron so I could perhaps get the curtains made.\u00a0 Since these were simple curtains with a casing, they were easy to do.<\/p>\n<p>1.\u00a0 Cut the fabric into 6 panels of varying sizes.<\/p>\n<p>2.\u00a0 Presses 1\/2 inch along side edges then folded over and pressed again to encase the raw edges.<\/p>\n<p>3.\u00a0 Sewed all side edges.\u00a0 They are nice and neat and no raw edges remained.<\/p>\n<p>4.\u00a0 Folded over 1\/2 inch at top of each curtain and pressed then folded over 2 more inches.<\/p>\n<p>5. Sewed along the bottom fold, then moved up and sewed again 3\/4 inch along top fold to make a casing.<\/p>\n<p>6.
