{"id":20,"date":"2015-01-16T01:01:06","date_gmt":"2015-01-16T01:01:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/crossett.net\/thecountrywife\/?p=20"},"modified":"2016-03-02T00:32:32","modified_gmt":"2016-03-02T05:32:32","slug":"time-is-flying-by","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/crossett.net\/thecountrywife\/index.php\/2015\/01\/16\/time-is-flying-by\/","title":{"rendered":"Time is Flying By"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Did I say I was going to make this a positive blog?\u00a0 Well, it is hoped that most everything will be positive, but real.<\/p>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>Life is so hectic.\u00a0 I just looked at the first post this year, which turned out to be on January 1.\u00a0 Well, that is good.\u00a0 Today is the 16th as I write. Better than it could have been as far as timing goes.\u00a0 Lots has happened.\u00a0 Some successes, some not so much.\u00a0 Most recently I have been adding to my paper crafting knowledge.\u00a0 There is so much information on YouTube that, with practice, most anyone should be able to create nice cards and other paper items.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The other night I was invited to a surprise baby shower.\u00a0 I usually knit up something or other especially for the specific baby on its way.\u00a0 Because of the cold, physical condition, earlier excesses with the knitting needles, or something else altogether,\u00a0 I have had to swear off knitting for a while longer.\u00a0 Without knitting possibilities I had to come up with something.\u00a0 PAPER!<\/p>\n<p>With a little drawer full of pretty papers, I chose to make some note cards, envelopes, and a box in which to put them.\u00a0 This was such a fun thing to do.\u00a0 They were very entry-level efforts but I really did have fun making them.\u00a0 I even learned how to make envelope-flap-stick \u2019em!\u00a0 (two parts white glue to one part white vinegar\u2013from Lindsay, The Frugal Crafter on YouTube).\u00a0 It really works.\u00a0 At least, on the one rejected envelope I tried to stick, it worked.\u00a0 So satisfying.<\/p>\n<p>To see the note cards and the envelopes, <a title=\"Quick and Easy Note Cards\" href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/7m9pU4rm69M\" target=\"_blank\">go to my YouTube channel<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Successes today:<\/p>\n<p>Laundry: done.<\/p>\n<p>Kitchen: cleaned, well, mostly\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Breakfast and supper: prepared and eaten.<\/p>\n<p>Steps walked: 3315.\u00a0 Okay, that is not really success, but it is better than 1500 steps\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Embossing without an expensive embossing machine: learned how to do it!<\/p>\n<p>Vintage Doily paper-punching-it worked!<\/p>\n<p>Dear One\u2019s brown bag: mended.<\/p>\n<p>Workroom bed: emptied!<\/p>\n<p>With all those successes, I think I will hit the hay without further ado, before I start thinking of the other things\u2026<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Did I say I was going to make this a positive blog?\u00a0 Well, it is hoped that most everything will be positive, but real.
