{"id":174,"date":"2010-08-25T12:45:46","date_gmt":"2010-08-25T16:45:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/crossett.net\/thecountrywife\/?p=174"},"modified":"2016-06-25T12:56:19","modified_gmt":"2016-06-25T16:56:19","slug":"a-real-wool-day-part-two","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/crossett.net\/thecountrywife\/index.php\/2010\/08\/25\/a-real-wool-day-part-two\/","title":{"rendered":"A REAL WOOL DAY, PART TWO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"Body\">Because Guild is part of Newport, NH, and because Newport, NH is the home of <a title=\"http:\/\/hdgpdg.wordpress.com\/\" href=\"http:\/\/hdgpdg.wordpress.com\/\">Hodge Podge<\/a>, a fabulous yarn, fiber, and spinning store,\u00a0 I thought I would make a quick stop at Hodge Podge for some yarn for my newest pattern acquisition:\u00a0 <a title=\"http:\/\/ciddesigns.blogspot.com\/2010\/01\/balloon-tying-creations-are-here.html\" href=\"http:\/\/ciddesigns.blogspot.com\/2010\/01\/balloon-tying-creations-are-here.html\">Sock Yarn Balloon Tying Creations<\/a> by CID HANSCOM DESIGNS.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\">There are about ten of the cutest designs imaginable for \u201cballoon tied\u201d animals.\u00a0 I showed the patterns to Eldon the other day.\u00a0 He was favorably impressed with all of them so I thought rather than immediately give the pattern to Cynthia, I would use it first.\u00a0 I have chosen to make the elephant, the bird, and the duck.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\">The elephant pattern calls for 2 colors:\u00a0 Trekking XXL #1005 and Trekking XXL #314.\u00a0 Hodge Podge does not carry Trekking yarn so I found a lovely gray and black named Licorice by <a title=\"http:\/\/www.patonsyarns.com\/product.php?LGC=stretchsocks\" href=\"http:\/\/www.patonsyarns.com\/product.php?LGC=stretchsocks\">Patons Stretch Socks<\/a> yarn.\u00a0 For the blanket part I got Regia 4-Fach Haltbar in Farbe: 01800 and Partie 43448.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\">The duck will be the same <a title=\"http:\/\/livepage.apple.com\/\" href=\"http:\/\/livepage.apple.com\/\">Regia<\/a> 4-Fach Haltbar in greens, oranges, and yellows as well as some Reynolds Soft Sea sock yarn in color 0853, an orange for the bill and feet.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\">Mrs. Bird is going to be several blues and purples from <a title=\"http:\/\/www.mirasolperu.com\/chirapayarn.htm\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mirasolperu.com\/chirapayarn.htm\">Chirapa<\/a> hand dyed merino spun in Peru.\u00a0 The shade is 703.\u00a0 The same orange for the beak as the duck and some Chirapa hand-dyed merino in a browns\/black\/oranges for the nest.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Because Guild is part of Newport, NH, and because Newport, NH is the home of Hodge Podge, a fabulous yarn, fiber, and spinning store,\u00a0 I thought I would make a quick stop at Hodge Podge for some yarn for my newest pattern acquisition:\u00a0 Sock Yarn Balloon Tying Creations by CID HANSCOM DESIGNS.
