{"id":165,"date":"2010-09-04T12:38:33","date_gmt":"2010-09-04T16:38:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/crossett.net\/thecountrywife\/?p=165"},"modified":"2016-06-25T12:41:58","modified_gmt":"2016-06-25T16:41:58","slug":"loom-fun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/crossett.net\/thecountrywife\/index.php\/2010\/09\/04\/loom-fun\/","title":{"rendered":"LOOM FUN"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"Body\">It is so wonderful to have Megan and her family with us for ten-plus days.\u00a0 We have already been gigantically busy and more to come.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\">Megan loved the samplers I wove at the Harrisville Weaving Center in June with teacher Tom Jipson.\u00a0 I loved that class and recommend it to everyone.\u00a0 Anyway, I had gotten some parts to update the loom as the folks there told me I should.\u00a0 Aunt Freda had given me her beautiful Harrisville loom which she purchased in 1975.\u00a0 The rawhide cables were a bit stretched, so I bought into the idea of replacing them and some other parts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\">When Megan and I started putting the loom together with the new parts we could not do it!\u00a0 I called and found that Terri was going to be there\u00a0 until five and would help us.\u00a0 We arrived at about 1:30 and worked like dogs for two hours putting on new parts.\u00a0 We discovered that in the confusion of check-out day in June whoever had gotten the parts for us had given us parts for a 22-inch loom even though the receipt clearly stated that they were parts for a 36-inch loom, which is the size of mine.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\">We arrived home after six to hungry men, and burned out ourselves.\u00a0 Lovely day together, though.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\">Today Megan put on the ribbons.
